MonoprintMonoprint is a printing technique that allows artists to print the image once, which is unlike other printing techniques where the original image could be printed multiple times. In order to print the image again, the artist would have to repaint the image and print it again; however the image would not look the same as the one they have previously printed.

In this experiment, I painted 4 different monochrome trees using pastel, with the colours blue, green, red and black. To develop my last experiment further, I decided to create coloured tracing papers (blue, green, red and yellow) that could overlay the monochrome trees and evoke a new feeling from the viewers.
In my first experiment, I thought of using a monochrome palette to generate a particular feeling to the viewers, as each colour symbolises different things and gives out a new and different feeling to the viewers.
- American Pop Artist
- His work defined the premise of pop art through parody - Inspired by the comic strip - Influenced by popular advertising and the comic book style - He described pop art as "not 'American' painting but actually industrial painting" For this term, I will be mainly focusing on the use of colour and materials, and how they help change our perspectives and shape our 'truth'.
1. Using same material or colour with different images -> Material/ colour = perception -> How our perception creates our reality -> With the same mindset, it will make the viewer perceive different images in the same way 2. Using same image/scenery with different colours -> Material/ colour = perception -> How our perceptions change how we see/view the same image |
